OmniFocus 4.8.4 for All Platforms

All Platforms

  • Repeats — Improved repeat scheduling logic; repeating items with “Catch up automatically” enabled now maintain regular schedule when skipping past occurrences.
  • Perspectives Bar — The contextual menu for the perspectives bar now uses a shorter phrase “Perspectives” to open the editable perspectives list.
  • Forecast — Improved Forecast sort order logic to avoid unexpected re-ordering of items following selection change in the outline.
  • Repeats — Avoided hang that could occur when calculating “catch up automatically” date over a very long interval of time.
  • Stability — Fixed a crash that could potentially cause widgets to stop updating.
  • Support Tools — Made the anonymizer more robust when data attachments are truncated.

Mac

  • Control Center — Quick Entry, Quick Open and Open Perspective controls are now available in the Control gallery on macOS 26.
  • Inspector — Restored support for revealing the Inspector in full screen when hovering cursor over its edge.
  • AppleScript — AppleScript’s “evaluate javascript” now resolves Promise results from asynchronous functions.
  • Outline — Fixed transitory layout issues in Fluid outlines.
  • Outline — Improved reliability of tab key navigation in Column outlines.
  • Quick Entry — Updated Quick Entry’s chrome to follow the Black theme.
  • Stability — Fixed a crash that could occur attempting to customize the toolbar on macOS 26.

iPhone, iPad, and Apple Vision Pro

  • Symbols — On OS 26, menus now use the same symbol for the Inspector as the toolbar uses.
  • Outline — Fixed a bug that could trigger temporary misalignment of tap targets in the outline.
  • Quick Open — “Edit” option in perspective shortcut contextual menu is now functional.
  • Search — Duplicating a search result no longer creates more than one item duplicate.

iPhone

  • Keyboard — Improved compatibility with third party keyboards on OS 26.
  • Navigation Bar — Addressed delay that could sometimes occur displaying Smart Add and Quick Entry buttons in Navigation Bar.

iPad

  • Perspectives Bar — Addressed unexpected Perspectives Bar animation when revealing or hiding a sidebar.
  • Toolbar — Toolbar buttons are now labeled when displayed in an overflow menu on iPadOS 26.

Apple Vision Pro

  • Widgets — Large widgets now display content.

OmniFocus 4.8.3 for All Platforms

OmniFocus 4.8.3 is a minor update focused on bug fixes.

  • Widgets — Widgets and Complications now always reload when app is foregrounded.
  • Documentation — Updated in-app Help.

Mac

  • Quick Entry — Quick Entry window is no longer clipped when Reduce Transparency Accessibility setting is enabled.
  • Omni Automation — Improved Pasteboard plain text handling.

iPhone & iPad

  • Quick Open — Quick Open now includes a Perspective Settings button, for quick access to perspectives management.
  • Delete — Attempting to delete a project or group when Select mode is enabled no longer triggers “No nodes were deletable” error message.
  • Free Viewer — Text is once again legible in Free Viewer mode expectations bar on OS versions prior to OS 26.
    • Nearby — “Location” button is now easier to tap.

iPhone

  • Navigation Bar — Improved Navigation Bar auto-collapse behavior when viewing a short outline.
  • Outline — Perspective title now remains visible when items are selected in the outline.

iPad

  • Menus — All perspectives are now listed in Perspectives menu.
  • Quick Open — Improved appearance of selection highlight in Quick Open.
  • Inspector — Inspector popover now displays correctly in Dark Mode when opened from contextual menu.

Apple Vision Pro

  • Focus — Restored Focus expectations bar.
  • Smart Add — Newly created items once again accept keyboard input in the title field.

OmniFocus 4.8.2 for All Platforms

Mac

  • Free Viewer after Update — Fixed an issue with the direct download where 4.8 would unexpectedly lose track of the licensing state stored by earlier versions, switching to Free Viewer mode after updating (until one signed back in to an Omni Account or reopened the app).

iPhone

  • Navigation Bar — When the Perspectives Bar is hidden, switching perspectives will now always collapse the Navigation Bar.
  • Navigation Bar — Fixed a bug that would cause the Navigation Bar to scroll unnecessarily when switching perspectives.

iPad

  • Review Interval — Work around a crash in iPadOS 26 encountered when dismissing the review interval popover. Also improved the popover’s layout.

  • OS Compatibility — OmniFocus has been updated for compatibility with macOS Tahoe 26, iOS 26, iPadOS 26, watchOS 26, and visionOS 26.
  • New Design — OmniFocus has been visually refreshed, adopting beautiful Liquid Glass design elements and a modernized look and feel when run on macOS Tahoe 26, iOS 26, or iPadOS 26.
  • Omni Automation [PRO] — On devices running macOS Tahoe 26, iOS 26, iPadOS 26, or visionOS 26 with hardware support for Apple Intelligence, OmniFocus plug-ins can now consult Apple’s new on-device Foundation Models.
  • App Icon — App Icon has been updated.
  • Documentation — Updated in-app Help.
  • Quick Open — New Quick Open icon.

Mac

  • Spotlight — OmniFocus Shortcuts actions can be run directly from Spotlight on macOS Tahoe 26.
  • Perspectives Bar — Perspectives Bar now displays in narrower state when perspective titles are disabled.
  • Toolbar — Toolbar defaults to icon-only display on macOS Tahoe 26.

iPhone & iPad

  • Perspectives — Perspectives are now managed in Settings.
  • Quick Entry — Quick Entry is now accessed via a dedicated button on iOS 26 and iPadOS 26.
  • Nearby — Perspective header is no longer displayed in Map mode on iOS 26 and iPadOS 26.

iPhone

  • Navigation — New Navigation Bar collapses on scroll, providing more space to view your tasks on iOS 26. When expanded, the Navigation Bar contains the redesigned Perspectives Bar and buttons for Quick Open, Search, Smart Add, and Quick Entry. Collapsed, the Navigation Bar displays a minimal set of buttons (including a button showing the current perspective icon, which you can tap to expand the Navigation Bar).
  • Navigation — Tapping the Navigation Bar button for the current perspective displays the Perspectives Bar, regardless of “Show Perspectives Bar” setting state.
  • CarPlay — Forecast and Perspective Items widgets are now available in CarPlay on iOS 26.

iPad

  • Windows — OmniFocus windows fully support flexible windowing on iPadOS 26.
  • Menus — OmniFocus menu items are available on iPadOS 26.
  • Search — Search has moved to the toolbar on iPadOS 26.

Apple Watch

  • Control Center — Quick Entry and Open Perspective Controls are available on watchOS 26.

Apple Vision Pro

  • Widgets — Forecast, Perspective Items, and Quick Entry widgets are available on visionOS 26.
